Dwight
Main Street, Inc. is a nonprofit organization organized in1998 by a group of
volunteers working together to enhance Dwight and its downtown area by
strengthening its community identity, preserving its unique heritage and
rekindling the economic vitality of downtown Dwight into the exciting
central core of the community which it once was.

Chamber of Commerce
The
Dwight Area Chamber of Commerce is located inside the historic
Dwight
Railroad Depot,
one of only a few remaining operating railroad stations between Chicago
and St. Louis featuring the architectural design of the 1890's.

Dwight Harvest Days
Harvest Days event was started in 1979 by the Dwight Area Chamber of
Commerce with a one-day event of arts and crafts, parade and band
contest. In 1981 it was agreed to separate the Chamber from the Harvest
Days Committee, and the event was to be held on the third weekend of
September each year, beginning on Friday and going through Sunday.
Crafts, flea markets, kiddie attractions, downtown entertainment, car
show, parade and band competition are the highlights of the weekend,
attracting over 10,000 people each year.

The mission of Dwight Township High School
is to prepare lifelong learners who are able to enjoy critical thinking
and problem solving skills in an increasingly diverse global society.
This responsibility is shared by faculty, staff, parent/guardians and
most importantly - students.

The vision of Dwight Common School District
#232 is to provide each student with the intellectual, emotional, and
social growth necessary to become self-motivated, responsible, and
caring citizens.
In order to attain our
high expectation for success, our mission is to provide a varied,
comprehensive program that will stimulate students to become creative
thinkers and problem solvers who strive to achieve their maximum
potential. We are committed to developing strong partnerships with
students, parents, community members, and businesses to place an
emphasis on learning as a life-long process.

Prairie Creek
Library
Formerly the Dwight Public
Library from 1926 to 1992, PCPL now caters to over 6,600 north-central
Illinois residents. The Carriage House (built around 1895) that serves
as the library's current home was a gift from the John R. Oughton
Estate. A plethora of modern day media -- books, magazines, newspapers,
books-on-tape and CD, music CDs, movies on VHS and DVD -- make up the
library's 30,000+ volumes
